Privacy policy

Effective October 4, 2026 · updated October 20, 2026

The short version: if you give us your email address and name, we use them to send you our newsletter and for nothing else. We will never sell, rent, trade or share them with anyone. You can unsubscribe in one click, and when you do, they are deleted.

This policy covers paddysedge.com and the Paddy's Edge newsletter ("we", "us").

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, your first and last name, and the time you signed up. That's all. We don't record your IP address or device with your subscription. To stop the form being abused, our server briefly remembers the IP address that submitted it, in memory only, for about ten minutes. It is never written to disk or linked to your subscription.

If you click one of our "Try the tool" links: those links pass through our own server before sending you on to the partner's site. We log the time, which link was clicked, the page you came from and your browser's user-agent string (e.g. "Chrome on iPhone"). This tells us which links people use. It isn't linked to your email address or to you personally.

Everyone who visits: we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which tells us how many people view the page, which site sent them (e.g. Instagram) and roughly what country and type of device they're on. It sets no cookies, doesn't fingerprint your browser and doesn't follow you to other sites; Cloudflare's handling of it is covered by its privacy policy. The site uses no cookies and no advertising trackers. Like any web server, our hosting provider may briefly keep standard request logs (such as IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting.

How we use your email and name

Only to send you the Paddy's Edge newsletter: a weekly email during the season with our streaks and our graded record. We won't send you other companies' offers and we won't add you to any other list.

Who we share it with

No one. We do not sell, rent, trade, share or give away subscriber email addresses or names, and we don't use them for advertising, including targeted ads on other sites.

Your address is stored on our own server, which runs on Fly.io's infrastructure. It is not in a third-party mailing-list service and can't be viewed from the web. To actually deliver an email, we will need an email delivery service. That service will handle your address only to deliver our emails, under a contract that bars it from using the address for anything else. We will name it on this page before the first newsletter goes out. Your first name is used to address the email to you.

The one thing that could override this: if we are legally required to disclose information, for example by a valid court order, we will disclose only what the law requires.

Affiliate links

Some links on the site are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you sign up with a partner. When you follow one, you're on their site and their privacy policy applies. We never pass your email address or anything else about you to them; they see only a short tag showing which of our links you clicked.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address and name until you unsubscribe. Then we delete them from our list right away, rather than marking it inactive. A copy may survive in our server's automatic backups, which are overwritten within a few days.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU and UK), you may have legal rights to access, correct or delete your data, or to opt out of its sale. We honor those requests for everyone, wherever you live. We don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.

21 and over

Paddy's Edge covers sports betting. The site and newsletter are for people 21 and older, and subscribers must confirm they are 21 or older. If we learn that an address belongs to someone under 21, we delete it.

Security

The subscriber list lives on a private server volume that is reachable only by us. No part of the website can display it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep as little as possible: an email address we don't hold can't be leaked.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date above. We will never start sharing addresses collected under this policy. That would need your explicit permission first.
